The pointed sample is usually a type of partial albinism, ensuing from a mutation in tyrosinase, an enzyme associated with melanin production. The mutated tyrosinase enzyme is warmth-sensitive; it fails to operate at typical overall body temperatures but will become active in cooler (< 33 °C) areas of the skin.[16] The warmth-delicate enzyme resu
